1. Never ever chase him. After the first email, which you CAN, by all means, initialize, the ball is in his court. If he doesn't reply back to your e-mail in less than three days or 72 hours, then dump him and move on. There are many more fish in the sea.

2. Never be readily available all the time. Don't reply to his e-mails 0.01 seconds after it was sent. Don't appear online all the time in the chatroom if he is available. Being available will make him think that you are an easy catch, and the chase becomes less interesting when that happens. Remember to REPLY, yes, but do it after a discrete amount of time. If your relationship has progressed to chatting, then do not be available 24/7. There's an invisible option on the chat box, so you can just lurk or stay hidden. Wait for him to message you, then reply after several minutes.

However, and let us make this crystal clear, when you have already established a form of communication, then constant exchange is a must. Reply to his IMs and e-mails at once. Not doing so would make him think that you are shirking back from him, and this would be quite equivalent to ditching him or appearing late on a date in real life.

3. Never hesitate to use the "Block User" button if someone does things that annoy or disturb you. Just because military dating is online, doesn't give men any license to take any form of liberties that you are not comfortable with. So even if he is in uniform, if he does something that you are not comfortable with, or you feel that is condescending or disturbing behavior, then don't settle for it and dump him.

Drop him if keeps asking pointless questions or makes rude and perverted innuendos. You better drop him like he's hot.

4. Be on the lookout. Yes, even if he is an army single and you want him, but you still need to protect your privacy and your identity with him.
